Laundry lovers, rejoice!
April 15 is National Laundry Day in Canada - and whether you love or loathe the laundry cycle, there’s no question that it plays a major role in all of our lives. To mark this occasion, the laundry experts at GE Appliances are sharing their top three laundry trends for 2017:
1- Everything old is new again. While front load laundry pairs were all the rage a few years ago, top load laundry is making a big comeback - thanks to the ergonomics, ease of use and functionality of the top load system. In fact, 55% of all laundry pairs sold in Canada today are top load. To meet this (retro) demand, appliance manufacturers are bringing a lot of the style traditionally found in front load pairs into their top load systems - look for updated control panels, sleeker design and more modern styling on the newest front load laundry pairs.
2 - Cool colours. Colour is coming to the laundry room, as appliance manufacturers think outside the plain white box. GE Appliances recently launched their GE Designer Line laundry pair in Diamond Grey - a beautiful dark grey finish that can bring classic sophistication to any laundry space.
3 - A connected home. Forgot that you needed to buy laundry detergent? There’s an app for that. 2017 is shaping up to be the year of connected appliances, as brands race to leverage technology to make everyday chores - including laundry - easier than ever. Shopping for a laundry pair in 2017? Look for features and functionality that connect your appliances to your phone so you can set it and forget it.
